Chicago Guardians make huge trade with Detroit Legion for Star Shooting Guard, Jason Mardas In big news post draft lottery; the Chicago Guardians have traded a whole load of assets to Detroit.
The trade is as follows PG Ivin Ashman( Recent 1st round pick with huge upside) SG Billy Nichols( Bench Scorer with a cheap deal) Chicago Guardians 4th overall pick in the 2028 SIBA Draft Chicago 2030 1st round pick
Sources close to the team have indicated that the Guardians front office had grown inpateint with the rebuild and huge pressure was on GM Terry Brooks to deliver a winning product in 1-2 years or face the axe. The team has been mixed with big lottery splash picks being disappointing and a lot of lottery luck not falling their way; the last straw was Denver winning the lottery with .5% odds, forcing the hand of the Guardians GM to do something now. They did do something as the Guardians have acquired Mardas for a haul and he looks to be their franchise centerpiece if he stays around, that’s a key IF in this puzzle.
