Have you come off the Rocky Mountain High, Dinos fans? Have you floated back down to Earth? Our vexing local squad, perennial disappointment that they are, is apparently the luckiest franchise in SIBA. With the worst lottery odds, a scant .5%, POINT FIVE OH chance out of 100, the Denver Dinosaurs did the impossible, they walked away from the dais with the first overall pick in the 2028 draft.

It looks like a new stud will be joining the Dinos that can be paired with sensational bigman Josh Briggery who spent significant time on the shelf with a broken nose last season. For Briggery though, it may as well have been a broken back, given how he was carrying the team every night, averaging almost 40 points a game. Ever since the trade of swingman Derek Bennem to Indy, Big Josh hasn’t had a single bit of help on the scoring end. But what’s this? In addition to the luckiest lotto draw of all time, the Dinos also swung a trade of PG Michael Smith for Bennem? DB is Back? Denver is adding a man who scored over 22 PPG here AND are opening up more minutes for PG Marcus Bohm who’s such a gifted passer he could throw a pork chop past a hungry dog?

Things appear to be looking up for Denver, with the #1 overall pick and improved play from the youngsters, they could really have something cooking going into the 2028-29 season.
